Hello and welcome to my personal info page...
My name is Paul (obviously). I am currently 50 years old although I am really bad with math, so who really knows....I live in Barre, Massachusetts. No, Barre isn't anywhere near Boston. It isn't really near anything. It is, however, the gateway to Hubbardston.
I was born in Whitinsville, Massachusetts very early in the morning on August 25, 1955. If you are into math, you now have all the information you need to calculate my age.
I enjoy music. I have many musical instruments but prefer keyboards. I love the piano, but I'm better when playing the electronic keyboard. I have a Yamaha Tyros2 Workstation.
Here's some sample music:
In His Eyes (Allen Dion)
I Am the Walrus (Lennon/McCartney)
Loneliness (Yoko Ono)
Cork Bottle (Paul N. Dion)
Phantom of the Opera (Webber/Hart)
Alright Okay You Win (Wyche/Watts)
I also enjoy computers. I like to build them and use them. I have a rather bulky machine staring me
down as I type. I do web design, and have a small web design business
named:
ThunderPages.
Many years ago, I got married (1975) when I'd just turned 20 and I have two daughters from that marriage.
My oldest daughter, Sarah, moved to California in 1996 and attended college at the
American River College
On May 17, 2004, I remarried, this time to my partner of the last 14 years, Allen.
Since we live in Massachusetts, our marriage is legal and hopefully it will soon be legal where YOU live for same-sex couples to marry.
Recently, (2006) Sarah joined our company, Innovative Incentives, Inc. as Director of Marketing, and was
appointed Treasurer of the corporation.
My younger daughter, Emily, is a free spirit and is not the least bit interested in math. She has a lot of energy! She lives in Wheelwright, MA...a village of Hardwick. She has
a really cool vintage motorcycle (that is NOT in running order, much to my delight, as I think motorcycles are easy targets for insane car drivers).
At least I think it's vintage. Maybe it's just cool.
Emily loves crows, crystals, and cats.
In April of 2006, Emily also joined Innovative Incentives, Inc. as a travel consultant for our retail travel division: Dion Travel. She's the group coordinator for Dion Travel and the
adminstrative assistant for Innovative Incentives, Inc.
In addition, she now runs the art gallery.
Allen and I used to live on Lake Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury, MA and we used to enjoy "lake living." After a while, things changed and we began to find living beside the lake too noisy and hectic. We sold the house and bought a new home quite a distance away in a quiet but interesting town named Barre. We still live there today - but not in the same house....our new home is a log home set back in the woods. We have developed this home and land into a hobby farm. We had two dairy goats (Dusty and Oreo) but they moved on... we used to have two white geese and two white turkeys who have also moved away. Presently, we maintain about 50 chickens, three rabbits, and three Nigerian Dwarf Goats (Paco, Nippy, and Health Bar). You can visit the farm here: Old Dana Farmstead.
Allen and I travel quite a bit. We have been to Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea, Scotland, England, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean (many, many times), Turkey, Greece, Panama, Colombia, Costa Rica, Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, Canada, Mexico, Nova Scotia, and maybe a few places I can't remember.
We like to travel in the U.S. as well, and have made several trips to California. We also like Las Vegas and Orlando. When we think of vacationing, we usually go on a cruise. I kept a list and I have been on approximately 27 cruises since 1993.
Allen and I own our own Incentive Travel Company, Innovative Incentives, Inc. and operate a retail travel office in Worcester, Massachusetts (Dion Travel). We also cater to the gay travel market with Innovative Gay Travel.
In the past, I have worked as a janitor, cook, molding machine operator, formal wear renter, leather tooler, automotive parts handler, gasoline attendant, mental health orderly, clay sculpture artist, woodworker, cork production worker, materials handler, paper hanger, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, web designer, and business management executive. I have yet to become chief bottle washer.
My newest endeavor is an art gallery - aptly named: The Dion Gallery. The gallery features Fine Art and collectibles from around the world...
Religion? Don't get me started. I'd rather talk politics. Interestingly enough, I don't watch television news or listen to the radio and have no idea what is going on out there in the world at large. Occasionally, I hear some rather upsetting things, though. OK, religion: born and raised Catholic and transitioned through Unitarian/Universalism and Buddhism into a more vague yet personally satisfying individual spiritual path. I use Reiki in my daily life and offer it others as well.
...and I have tattoos.
Thanks for stopping by to read this. I can't imagine how it could have improved your life. I do think you could improve it through giving to others, though. For examples of this - check out: The Caring & Sharing Foundation.
Oh yes, I collect web domains (if you didn't notice).
Peace and Aloha.
